These are challenging and stressful times for most people.  We have had to adapt to new daily routines and as a result mental health issues have risen. Most people don’t realise that there is a connection between physical activity and mental health. Becoming more active or continuing to workout regularly has a number of positive benefits to a person’s mental health.

  • Increases self esteem

But there are a number of small steps you can take to help look after your mental health.

  1. Talk to a friend, relative or health professional
  2. Limit alcohol intake
  3. Have a well balanced diet
  4. Get enough sleep
  5. Do things you enjoy, i.e. take a bath, watch comedy, listen to music
  6. Take regular exercise, even if its just going for a walk
